Keto Chocolate Mousse Recipe
(Serves 4)
This rich and creamy keto chocolate mousse is a perfect low-carb dessert. It’s decadent, silky-smooth, and easy to make, with only a few ingredients!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 oz unsweetened dark chocolate (at least 85% cocoa)
- 2 tbsp powdered erythritol or sweetener of choice
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- Optional garnish: whipped cream, cocoa powder, or chocolate shavings
Instructions:
1. Melt the Chocolate:
- Chop the unsweetened dark chocolate into small pieces and melt it in a heatproof bowl. You can melt the chocolate using a double boiler or in the microwave in 20-30 second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth and fully melted. Let it cool to room temperature.
2. Whip the Cream:
- In a mixing bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream with an electric mixer or stand mixer on medium-high speed until stiff peaks form. This should take about 3-4 minutes.
3. Combine the Ingredients:
- Once the whipped cream is ready, gently fold in the cooled melted chocolate, powdered erythritol (or sweetener), vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Be careful not to deflate the whipped cream too much—mix until everything is well combined and smooth.
4. Chill the Mousse:
- Spoon the mousse into serving cups or bowls. Refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours, or until the mousse has firmed up and is chilled.
5. Garnish and Serve:
- Once chilled, garnish with optional whipped cream, a sprinkle of cocoa powder, or chocolate shavings if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!
